KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: The Public Authority for Manpower has announced that its Expatriate Workers Shelter Center, which operates under the Authority, is the first of its kind in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Middle East to accommodate expatriate workers, particularly in terms of the services and capacity it offers. This announcement was made by Aseel Al-Mazid, Director of the Public Relations Department and the official spokesperson for the Authority, during the reception of the Permanent Coordination Committee. The committee, tasked with linking the Authority with civil society institutions and public benefit associations, accompanied a delegation from the Patients’ Aid Fund Association on a visit to the Expatriate Workers Shelter Center.

Al-Mazid reported that the Fund’s delegation, along with members of the Coordination Committee, toured the center’s facilities, where they inspected various aspects of the operation. The visit aimed to familiarize the delegation with the procedures for receiving workers, the role of public benefit associations, and the contributions of government agencies within the center. The services provided to female workers residing at the center, which include health, psychological, and legal support, were also highlighted.



During the visit, all inquiries from the association’s delegation were addressed. Al-Mazid further noted that the delegation was briefed on the special procedures in place at the center regarding the care and rehabilitation of female inmates. The center’s efforts to provide social protection, psychological services, decent accommodation, and legal protection for the workers were also discussed.
