I feel like television happened to me but streaming is something that I have chosen.” “Here my journey is very very thought out, I have chosen things, I have said no to many things and I’m slowly trying to build a filmography that I can look back and be proud of so if that effort is paid off if other people notice and appreciate that then it means the world to me because currently, I am doing this as a self-experiment where I am trying to push my boundaries and challenge myself again and again.

What I am getting for it is that I am in a space to choose from a variety of characters, things I could’ve not imagined would come my way before and I’ll continue to do this and I hope that people watch my things and whether they appreciate my characters or not is upto them but at least they sample it, ” Kritika continued. But in order to get to be where she is, Kritika was conscious about her choices and turned down certain characters to be where she is. “I think it has affected my career in a positive way. Many actors have said this in the past and it’s absolutely true that ‘it’s the no’s that make your career what it is’ and only then can you exercise choice,” the actor stated.

Kritika added, “On television, I lucked out, I got lucky with some very popular characters but even there, from the beginning, I was conscious that I don’t want to do a saas bahu drama, I don’t want to do a regressive show, I want to portray the new age woman, I want to portray the woman I want to watch and that I can relate with. I try to make those choices in my own way with Dr Nidhi, with reporter, with many roles that I did, I was trying to push my boundaries par television par unfortunately or fortunately, that’s all you can do. Because of diverse writing on streaming, I am getting the opportunity to be able to do that and I will always consciously do it.

” Kritika Kamra stated that she had some boundaries that she was unwilling to compromise on. She is not interested in playing a role in a movie that has only one song and two scenes or where she has to be a ‘wallflower.’ The actor aspires to be more than a hero’s love interest.

Kritika clarified that as an artist she doesn’t want to do something that she wouldn’t be proud of or that she would later find upsetting to see.
