Regarded as one of the greatest playback singers of India, Krishnakumar Kunnath, aka KK, made his debut in Bollywood in 1996 with Gulzar's film Maachis , which starred Jimmy Shergill, Chandrachur Singh, Om Puri, and Tabu in lead roles. Marking the special occasion, Google dedicated a special doodle celebrating the late legendary singer, who is immensely loved for his romantic and soulful numbers. On Friday, October 25, Google shared an animated picture of KK holding a mic, leaving millions of his fans emotional and happy.

The fact that Google honoured KK with a doodle for "Chhod Aaye Hum" , a song in which he sang only a few portions, defines the legacy of the versatile singer. Apart from KK, the track was voiced by Hariharan, Suresh Wadkar, Vishal Bhardwaj and Vinod Sehgal. KK made a full-fledged debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam , directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. His tracks "Tadap Tadap Ke" and "Dheel De De Re Bhaiya" from the romance musical became viral hits. Apart from that, KK sang several hit songs, including "Aashayein" , "Yaaron" , "Tu Aashiqui Hai" , "Sach Keh Raha Hai" , "Zara Sa", "Pyaar Ke Pal" , "Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai" and "Bardaasht Nahi Kar Sakta" among others.
