Lovers of mai-tais, crab rangoons and wings can now get a taste of an iconic Massachusetts restaurant at a New Hampshire casino. The Brook Casino in Seabrook has brought the flavors of the Kowloon Restaurant to the Granite State with the opening of 9 Dragons on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The “one-of-a-kind Asian dining concept and nightlife experience” is not a new Kowloon, nor a replacement of the legendary Route 1 locale in Saugus. Instead, 9 Dragons showcases a mix of favorites from Kowloon, which has been a staple on the North Shore for more than 50 years, as well as new items. “9 Dragons, which is literally the translation of the Cantonese word ‘Kowloon,’ is the perfect metaphor for what we have created with this new restaurant,” Bobby Wong, whose family owns and operates Kowloon, said in a press release.

“But make no mistake about it, 9 Dragons is not Kowloon. It is a totally different culinary and creative experience, though it shares a common history and culture with its older cousin.” Inspired by the Kowloon district in Hong Kong, 9 Dragons features multiple dining areas, a private event space and cocktail lounge named Forbidden City.

Signature cocktails include the “Year of the Dragon” Mai Tai and a sharable scorpion bowl. The restaurant will also host live music and DJ events. 9 Dragons is open Thursday to Saturday from 4-10 p.

m. and Sunday from 1-7 p.m.

The Forbidden City is open Thursday from 4-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4 p.

m. to 1:30 a.m.
