By MARK REY MONTEJO Less than a month after his impressive win in Scotland, Koronadal City darter Christian Perez stamped his class anew and ruled the 2025 Isle of Man Open over the weekend. Cool and methodical, the 43-year-old Perez scored a masterful 5-2 win over England’s Carl Wilkinson to secure his second straight title. In Scotland’s event, Perez also showed feathery touch to annihilate the English darter, 4-0, in the quarters.
With the win, the pride of Marbel, South Cotabato became the first-ever Asian to conquer the annual tournament which started in 1986. Perez also took home the champion’s purse of £5,000 (around P370,000). Last February, Perez began his Euro Tour stint in grand fashion, downing Scotland’s Ryan Hogarth, 5-3, to snare the Target Darts Scottish Open crown.
Meanwhile, Wales’ Eve Watson conquered the women’s event after beating Dutch Anca Zijlstra, 5-2..
