KINGSPORT— The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department will offer a beginner’s course in pickleball at the Riverview Pickleball Courts, according to a news release. Classes will be Aug. 29 to Oct.

5. Classes will be held Thursdays from 6 p.m.



to 7 p.m., except for Sept.

19. The Riverview Pickleball Courts are located at 301 Louis St. Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.

S., has gained popularity in the Tri-Cities area with numerous competitors, teams and leagues. The course is open to participants ages 14 and up.

The cost is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents. The instructor-led course will cover the basics of pickleball, including the rules, serving, return serve and dinking. All equipment will be provided.
