Monday, January 20, 2025 Leaders from several Cambodian provinces recently visited Kien Giang, a prominent locality in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, to extend Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings and explore opportunities for future collaboration. The meetings highlighted mutual aspirations to deepen cooperation in transportation, tourism, cultural exchange, and public safety, aiming to strengthen ties that benefit both nations. During the discussions, Kien Giang officials shared their socio-economic accomplishments in 2024, emphasizing regional development, infrastructure improvements, and ongoing humanitarian efforts.

Cambodian leaders reciprocated with updates on their provinces’ achievements and outlined plans for enhanced cross-border collaboration, particularly in tourism and logistics. Cambodia’s provinces have been focusing on expanding their tourism offerings, viewing Kien Giang as a vital partner in promoting cross-border travel. Leaders such as Khiev Rithiphorn, Deputy Governor of Kampot province, expressed a strong interest in working with Kien Giang to attract more tourists in 2025.



With Kampot planning an array of promotional activities aimed at showcasing its cultural and natural assets, cooperation with Kien Giang could create pathways for residents and visitors to explore both regions seamlessly. Similarly, Kep province Governor Som Piseth highlighted the longstanding partnership between Kep and Kien Giang, which has yielded significant socio-economic progress. Pis.
