A citizen saw this and made a video of the situation on the busy Shamlaji highway. The farmer, who travels regularly to his farm in Shehra taluka, saw the children on two consecutive days.

He approached them on Saturday and discussed the difficulties they face. “They study at Uttar Buniyadi Shala in Mirapur. They travel this way to school every day.

They catch a six-seater rickshaw or van till a spot near their school. From there, they walk,” he said. The children told the man they pay Rs 5 as fare for either direction.

They told him that they were unable to find buses according to their school timings. The farmer said he got concerned because the children were hanging from the vehicles even when it was raining. “Also, the highway is very busy and has heavy vehicle traffic too,” he said.
