Prayagraj: Two persons, including a child, sustained injuries after supporters of two rival camps clashed and indulged in firing at Nidhiyawa village in Kaushambi district on Saturday, police said. Upon being alerted, senior police officials, including SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, along with forces, rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. The SP told reporters that two groups belonging to Abhay and Shiv Mohan, came face to face over a petty issue on Friday night.
It was alleged that Abhay and his supporters thrashed Shiv Mohan leaving him injured. On Saturday morning, supporters of Shiv Mohan attacked the house of Abhay. A video of the clash also went viral on social media.
The SP said additional police forces have been deployed in the village and an FIR under appropriate sections has also been registered. Police said the injured were admitted to a hospital where their condition was said to be stable. They said Gangster Act will be slapped against those involved in the incident.
