Mosimane met with his former club on Monday as his current side, Esteghlal, came up against his Al Ahli in the Asian Champions League. The 60-year-old was unable to secure a win over his ex-club as the match ended in a 2-2 draw, with his side playing with 10 men for the last 10 minutes of the game. In June 2023, Mosimane was dismissed from his role as Al Ahli boss right after guiding them to promotion to the Saudi Pro League.
