Kia Motors is gearing up to launch the new Carnival MPV in India by October. Initially arriving as a fully imported model, the Carnival will see local assembly begin later. Expected to be priced around Rs 50-60 lakh due to import taxes, the Carnival offers a more affordable alternative to luxury MPVs like the Toyota Vellfire.

The new model features advanced tech upgrades and a powerful 2.2-litre diesel engine. New Delhi: Kia Motors has announced that it will introduce the new Carnival MPV to the Indian market by October this year.



The model making its debut in India is the facelifted version of the KA4, which was previously showcased at the Auto Expo. Initially, the Carnival will be available as a full import, with local assembly planned for a later stage. 2024 Kia Carnival: Expected Pricing Due to its status as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) import, the Carnival will incur significant import taxes, potentially driving the starting price up to around ₹50-60 lakh.

Despite this, Carnival will stand out in its segment as there are no direct competitors in this price range. It positions itself as a more budget-friendly, albeit less luxurious, alternative to high-end MPVs like the Toyota Vellfire, which starts at ₹1.22 crore.

The Carnival also offers a higher-end option compared to the Innova Hycross, which tops out at ₹30.98 lakh. 2024 Kia Carnival: Engine The global version of the Carnival offers three engine options: a 3.

5-litre V6 petrol, a 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid, and a 2.2-litre diesel.

The Indian version is expected to retain the 198.25 BHP, 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine from its predecessor, known for its robust performance and efficiency.

2024 Kia Carnival: Expected Features The facelifted Carnival comes with several high-tech features, including 12.3-inch displays, revamped air conditioning and audio controls located beneath the central screen, a rotary drive selector, front and rear dash cameras, a head-up display, and a digital rear-view mirror. It also boasts an updated digital key and ambient lighting along the dashboard.

Multiple seating configurations, such as 7-, 9-, and 11-seater setups, are available, although the specific options for India have yet to be confirmed. 2024 Kia Carnival: Launch and Delivery in India With the launch expected by October, dealerships anticipate that deliveries will commence before Diwali. Alongside the Carnival, Kia India is also preparing to introduce the EV9 full-size electric SUV later this year, expanding its footprint in the Indian automotive market.
