Listen to Story In the latest episode of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16', host Amitabh Bachchan smartly silenced a contestant who called unmarried women a 'burden' to the family. The contestant was trying to explain how he managed to make ends meet after losing a job during Covid when he made the misogynist remark. The contestant named Krishna Selukar revealed that he lost his job despite having a degree in engineering.

He told Big B, " Agar main kahun bina shaadi ki ladki gharwalon par bojh hoti hai na sir, ek umar hone ke baad berozgar ladke utna hi bojh hote hai [If I say an unmarried woman is a burden to her family, then an unemployed son is also a burden to his family after a point]." Bachchan, who is known to spread the message of gender equality and women empowerment on 'KBC', smartly replied to the man. The megastar of Bollywood highlighted how a woman is the pride of a family and any notion establishing otherwise should be discouraged outright.

"Ek baat batayein aapko. Ladki jo hai bojh kabhi nai ban sakti. Bahut badi shaan hoti hai mahila .

[Do you know one thing? A woman can never be a burden to her family. She is the biggest honour of her family]," he said. Bachchan has been hosting the reality game show for over 24 years now.

He began the show in the year 2000 and hosted every season, except season 3, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
