To spotlight the tourism potential of Northeast India, the Ministry of Tourism is set to host the 12th International Tourism Mart (ITM) in Kaziranga, Assam. This three-day annual event, scheduled from November 26 to 29, aims to showcase the region’s attractions to both domestic and international audiences.
The ITM serves as a crucial platform for fostering partnerships and collaboration among tourism stakeholders. Representatives from the eight Northeastern states— Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim —will come together with buyers, sellers, government agencies, and entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities in the sector. Set against the backdrop of Kaziranga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its one-horned rhinoceros, this year’s edition promises to highlight the region’s rich biodiversity, cultural diversity, and heritage.
Tourism Director General Mugdha Sinha announced that around 400 participants are expected to attend, making it a significant gathering for the promotion of Northeast India’s tourism potential..
