Carl Woods , who is the ex fiancée of Katie Price , is reportedly battling to reclaim £4,500 he loaned her to purchase her pink Range Rover. Former glamour model Katie, 46, who has been declared bankrupt twice, bought back the flashy motor in 2023 for £16,000 - a stark contrast to the original £75,000 she paid seven years prior. Carl is believed to have assisted Katie in locating the vehicle, which was repossessed in 2019 when she first went bankrupt, and contributed towards its cost.
However, following their split, Carl is still reportedly waiting for his money. Earlier this year, the former Love Island star, 35, made attempts to have the funds transferred back to him. An insider revealed: "Carl really felt like he was being mugged off and accused Katie of spending like there's no tomorrow.
" However, another source told The Sun : "As far as she is concerned, the car was a gift. Carl messaged Katie to say it would be delivered, and was his gift to her, so to read that he now wants money is a bit baffling." Despite having an outstanding tax bill of £760,000, Katie flaunted her revamped 4x4 over the weekend after getting new brakes installed.
It comes after was arrested earlier this month for missing a bankruptcy hearing to undergo a £10,000 facelift in Turkey. The mum-of-five was arrested at the airport when she landed back in the UK after her getaway where she underwent more surgery. The TV personality was due to give evidence about her finances before a specialist bankruptcy court in London.
Katie was declared bankrupt in November 2019 and for a second time in March this year. She was warned she faced arrest if she failed to attend the latest hearing. Despite the warrant for her arrest, Katie flew off to Turkey to undergo more cosmetic procedures, including a facelift.
Katie was seen speaking with police officers in the back of a police van at Heathrow Airport. A statement from the Metropolitan Police said at the time of her arrest: "A 46-year-old woman from Surrey was arrested at Heathrow Airport at 19:45hrs on Thursday, 8 August for failing to appear at court. She has been remanded in custody at a west London police station to appear at the Royal Courts of Justice tomorrow, Friday, 9 August.
" Hours before her arrest, she took to social media to tell fans that she was "aware" an arrest was incoming. She wrote: "I would just like to thank everyone that has been showing support and compassion to my situation this week with my pending arrest. Despite what has been misreported I am now in route [sic] back from filming my documentary.
I was never just abroad being ignorant to what's going on and I stand by the facts, which is that there has been miscommunications here between a number of people here to do with my bankruptcy. "However now I am returning home from work, & I am aware that I am about to be detained at the airport which is obviously what the courts feel is necessary. I do hope of course for my son's sake while he is with me that they will allow some dignity and protection for at least his sake as this will be extremely disturbing for him to see.
"Whilst I understand the importance and severity of the matter I do feel like I am being treated like a criminal. I would like to point out once again that this is to do with a very unfortunate financial circumstance which as hard as it has been does not make [me] a criminal or bad person. Millions of people suffer losses and go through bankruptcy's [sic], through many different reasons and mine was due to serious mental health issues and breakdowns from PTSD.
"Whilst [sic] it's been hard, I repeatedly will stand by the fact that I am not embarrassed or ashamed that this has happened to me. People loose [sic] their lives every day over the embarrassment and fear of these situations and the public bullying I've endured on this matter is simply not ok. I will continue to speak out on this and not be ashamed.
"I will address this with the police and courts when I land and I ask for my son Harvey's sake it's handled with care and compassion. I am after all only a human being. I appreciate all of you that continue to show me love it means a lot.
