She has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at the Royal Courts of Justice, in London, today. Recently, the former glamour model was seen in Turkey with bandages on her face, leading to speculation that she had travelled there for surgery. In July, an arrest warrant was issued after she failed to attend a court hearing.
She was due to appear at a bankruptcy court in London on July 30 and had been warned that failure to attend could result in her arrest. Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton confirmed that Price had received "very clear warnings" about the consequences of non-attendance. The judge stated: "It is in my judgement necessary that the court issue a warrant for Ms Price's arrest.
She has no real excuse for failing to attend today's hearing. The reason for her absence today is irrelevant." Barrister Darragh Connell, representing the trustee for Price's two bankruptcies, assured the court that Price would be detained to ensure her attendance at a future hearing, but would "not be kept in custody for a long period of time".
He stated: "Her liberty is on the line, but unfortunately we are at the end of the road in relation to this matter." Price was declared bankrupt in 2019 and once more in March due to an outstanding tax bill exceeding £750,000. Nonetheless, the television personality has challenged the sense of imprisoning her, asserting: "It would cost them more money to put me in prison than out.
