Kathleen ” Sue” Montella of Concord Township, PA passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, at the age of 64 with her loving family by her side leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. While Kathleen was her given name, she was affectionately known as ” Sue” to all of her family and friends. Sue was born to Kathleen ( Murphy) and Joseph Lightkep of Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

Sue graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School. Upon graduation she attended Chestnut Hill Academy earning a certificate as an X-ray technician. Sue worked many years as an X-ray tech for Southeast Radiology at Brinton Lake, assisting women with mammograms until she retired in 2015 due to a diagnosis of early onset of Alzheimer’s.



Sue was blessed with a beautiful smile which she shared with everyone who knew her. In 2009 , Sue was elected as the Judge of Elections for the South East Precinct of Concord Township to which she served for many years assisting many of her neighbors during elections. Sue loved music, dancing and spending time with her family and friends at the shore and so it was no surprise she eventually met her husband, Jerry during a summer in Ocean City, N.

J. Sue was an avid swimmer growing up competing in swim meets at the “Hideaway Swim Club” and Hatboro Horsham High School . Sue especially loved children and her dog Indigo Sue was preceded in death by her mother Kathleen, sister Colleen Lightkep and Uncle Buddy Murphy as well as her Father and Mother in laws Carmen and Marie Montella.

Sue is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerry, daughter Melissa (Drew) Hughes and son Michael, her father, Joseph Lightkep, her two brothers, Stephen Lightkep, and Joseph (Leanne) Lightkep, Jr. as well as several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. Sue’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, 5:30-7:30pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk RD., Garnet Valley, PA. An additional viewing will be held on Friday at St.

Thomas the Apostle, 430 Valleybrook Rd, Glen Mills, PA from 9:15-10:15AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sue’s memory to the Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandybank Rd.
