The Princess of Wales "saved" Prince William after his "dysfunctional" childhood and has dedicated her life to making him happy, a royal expert has stated. The royal couple famously met when they were both students at St Andrews university , and started off as friends before romance blossomed. They have now been married for more than a decade and are proud parents to three children, George , Charlotte , and little Louis .

Royal author Angela Levin reflected on their relationship during an appearance on True Royalty TV 's Royal Beat, saying: "I think that Kate has helped save William. I think it was very difficult for him coming out of a dysfunctional family, losing his mum so young and I think he was in a very difficult place." Angela further stated that Kate has worked hard to support William in his royal work - and has also helped him work out his identity.

She said: " She has really encouraged him . Her whole life is to make him happy, I think. She found things that really make him feel important and worthy rather than just going to cut ribbons.

I think she has helped him to be a husband by introducing him to her own family a lot and spending time with a normal family and being a dad ." Kate is known to be extremely close with her parents, Michael and Carole , who are thought to have offered the whole family comfort and stability during her recent health battle. And William's bond with the Middletons has also only grown stronger.
