More info Kate Middleton remains down-to-earth despite her Princess of Wales status with those close to her still lovingly referring to her as Catherine or her more familiar name, Kate. However, it has emerged that before her marriage to Prince William, the Prince of Wales' 'snooty' friends had created an unflattering nickname for Kate which poked fun at her mother Carole Middleton's former career as a British Airways flight attendant. Royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed on the Vanity Fair Dynasty podcat that they would make snide remarks like "Doors to Manual" in reference to the princess, OK! reports.

Nicholl commended Kate's dignified response: "To her full credit, Kate never rose to it - the snootiness of the upper classes levelled at what they called the en-masse Middletons." While the hurtful nickname undoubtedly stung, the Sunday Times Magazine reported that a close aide revealed Kate, known for her resilience and composure, never let it faze her. The aide recalled: "It was never water off a duck's back, but she has extraordinary strength of character and resilience.

I've never once seen or heard of her losing her temper." Since her marriage to Prince William 12 years ago, Kate Middleton has become an indispensable member of the Royal Family and is poised to become Queen consort. She has embraced family life, raising their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
