Kate Garraway has been replaced on Good Morning Britain again after her father was rushed to hospital . The presenter, 57, fronted two episodes of the ITV morning programme last week while covering Susanna Reid , 53, during the summer holidays. However last week she reportedly rushed off air after the programme on Tuesday to be by her father’s side.

Just over a week on, Kate didn’t appear on her regular Thursday presenting slot either. Instead, she was replaced by Ranvir Singh, 39. The show announced she would be paired with Richard Madeley, 68, in a post on social media.

‘Today. Join Ranvir and Richard from 6am on ITV1,’ it read. It comes after Kate’s dad was reported to be in hospital after suffering a suspected stroke and heart attack.

A source claimed he collapsed at home while staying with her mum and brother in Cornwall but was now stable in hospital. Mum-of-two Kate is said to have travelled to be with him in hospital and missed filming the show over the rest of the week. A source told The Sun : ‘Very sadly, Kate’s father collapsed earlier this week while staying, along with her mum and her brother in Cornwall.

‘It was incredibly frightening as he was found unconscious and immediately taken to hospital. ‘Kate rushed to be by his and her mum’s side minutes after GMB finished on air. It seems likely that he’s had a stroke and possibly a heart attack as well – doctors are still doing tests.

‘He remains in hospital and is currently stable but, understandably, it’s given the whole family a terrible scare and they are praying he can recover.’ The insider added: ‘Luckily Kate is due to be off work for a few weeks anyway so she can divide her time between the hospital whilst simultaneously looking after Darcey and Billy. ‘After the horrible, heartbreaking year they have had, it’s so important to Kate that they try and have a normal summer break.

It’s a very stressful time for the whole family but as ever Kate is doing her best to look after everyone.’ More Trending ITV presenter urged to 'stop defending' Charlotte Dujardin after horse abuse Good Morning Britain star knows a fourth Strictly star left 'intimidated' by partner Richard Madeley faces backlash for 'insulting' description of Joe Biden Strictly star takes swipe at Zara McDermott after Graziano Di Prima 'kicked and hit' her The health scare comes a few weeks after Kate said she was ‘barely holding it together’ following the death of her husband Derek Draper, who died in January after a three-year battle with complications related to Covid-19. Sharing updates a few months later amid support from fans, Kate revealed she was at ‘the beginning of grief’ and was facing ‘many ups and downs’ but was doing her best to focus on their two children, Darcey, 18, and Billy, 14.
