The Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on July 26 in India to celebrate the triumph of India's Armed Forces over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999. The Forces ousted the Pakistani soldiers who occupied the mountain tops of North Kargil in Ladakh. The war occurred after India and Pakistan signed the Lahore Declaration in 1999.
