Karan Johar was visibly in shock after he was honoured for his contributions to the Indian film industry at the IIFA 2024. Karan completed 25 years last year. While he gifted fans Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, IIFA presented him with a special award to celebrate his journey so far.

“Today, IIFA honours Karan Johar for completing 25 years in the Indian film industry and creating a legacy for the ages,” announced Vicky Kaushal. The award was presented to him by Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker was in shock by the honour.

The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in the lead. The film won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Karan went on to deliver several box office hits.

These included Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...

(2001), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), My Name Is Khan (2010), Student of the Year (2012) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). His last directorial film was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which released in 2023. Although he has been picky about his directorial.
