Karachi Airport and its surrounding areas have been designated as a Red Zone due to heightened security concerns. Strict measures are in place, with access restricted to passengers, airport staff, and authorized individuals only. This decision follows recent incidents, including a suicide attack targeting a convoy of Chinese engineers near Karachi Airport and a shooting on Sharea Faisal involving luxury vehicles.

These events have led to increased security in the city to ensure public safety. SSP Malir, Kashif Aftab Abbasi, confirmed that the following locations near the airport have designated as police checkpoints with round-the-clock deployment of personnel: At these checkpoints, security officials are conducting thorough inspections of suspicious individuals and vehicles to prevent any unusual activity. Passengers traveling to Karachi Airport advised to arrive well in advance to avoid delays due to security checks.



SSP Malir also urged individuals to carry their flight tickets and National Identity Cards (NIC) for smooth entry into the Red Zone. Residents of nearby areas, including Malir Cantt, Model Colony, and Memon Goth, have requested to avoid traveling through the restricted zone. Instead, they encouraged to use alternative routes such as Shahra e Faisal and Malir Halt Road.
