The Bombay High Court heard a petition on Friday regarding the upcoming film Emergency . During the hearing, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, the co-producer of Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency, informed the court that it has agreed to the cuts suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). As reported the producer of the movie has sought 2 weeks to comply with the suggested cuts and edits in the movie by CBFC.
The CBFC has also told the court they will decide on certification in 2 weeks. As per the terms agreed between the two parties, both Manikarnika and Zee Entertainment have agreed to certain cuts. Manikarnika has asked for two weeks to make the changes and once such changes are made, the certification will be granted in the next two weeks.
Money Control reported that Senior counsel Abhinav Chandrachud, appearing for the CBFC, said once the film is submitted after the cuts, the same would be verified and a certificate would be issued in two weeks. A division bench of Justices B P Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla accepted the statements and disposed of the petition filed by Zee Entertainment. Recently, Kangana expressed her disappointment over the delayed release.
