Bollywood actor and now a BJP MP from Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut’s image as a politician has taken quite a dent with frivolous remarks stirring row after row and getting reprimanded by the party. Ranaut, who once quipped that India got independence in 2014 with Modi’s rise to the corridors of power, made a bizarre remark on her Instagram story while reposting a BJP post on Shashtri jayanti that coincides with Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Gandhi, who is fondly remembered as Bapu (father) , a term first used by Subhash Chandra Bose, is also dubbed the Father of the Nation, albeit not an official title.
While it was the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the nation also commemorated the 120th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shahtri, who was immensely inspired by Bapu.
