One celeb who showed their love for Kamala was pop star Charli XCX, who took to X (formally Twitter) to rave: "Kamala IS brat." While many would initially think being called a brat is a negative thing, in terms of Charli's vocabulary it is actually a term of endearment thanks to the name of her latest album released, of the same name, earlier this year.
And one person who didn't get the wrong end of the stick was Kamala's step-daughter Ella, who was ever so proud of her stepmom's new name. The 25-year-old, who is the daughter of Kamala’s husband Doug Emhoff, celebrated the Vice President being called a “brat” by the British singer. Taking to her Instagram Story on Monday, Ella penned: “charli_xcx gets it," along with a screenshot of Charli XCX's original tweet.
Charli released her sixth studio album Brat last month and it’s quickly become the hot hit of the summer. “But kind of like parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like does dumb things.
” Ella isn't the only one embracing the new endorsement as Kamala herself has also welcomed it with open arms. Her official campaign account on X, @KamalaHQ, changed its banner to match the style of the Brat album cover. The cover has a blurry and black brat written across a lime green background, and KamalaHQ’s X banner now has “kamala hq” in lowercase with the same blurry style and background.
