Superstar Kamal Haasan, regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, is celebrating his 70th birthday on Thursday. Born on November 7, 1954, in a Tamil Iyengar Brahmin family, Haasan began his journey in showbiz at an early age, making his debut with the Tamil film Kalathur Kannamma in 1960 as a child artist. The film was helmed by A Bhimsingh.
Since then, Haasan has remained a prominent face in the entertainment industry for several decades and has worked in films across different languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali, while remaining active in the Tamil film industry.
