Someone who appears to be a young boy sent Kai Cenat over £9,000 in gifted subscriptions on Twitch – and the streamer fears he stole his mum’s credit card. Cenat and IShowSpeed are known for some of the most ambitious streams on Twitch and YouTube , respectively, as the former is known for taking on tough video game challenges, while the latter’s stardom recently forced him to hide from a mob of fans in Norway . Now the two have come together to try to beat Minecraft on the most difficult setting – without stopping until they’ve finished it – but it has proved to be a mountainous challenge, which had them call in a therapist to ease the tension between the two.

During the marathon stream, Cenat received a total of 2,350 gifted subscriptions from a viewer, which is over £9,000, but upon further inspection, the fan appears to be a child. Cenat had just hit the milestone of 13 million followers on his Twitch account, when a fan, nicknamed Takky, donated 1,000 subscriptions to random viewers, bringing their total up to 2,350. One subscription on Twitch costs £3.

99, which adds up to a total of £9,375. Fans in the chat found what they think is Takky’s YouTube channel, which has a seemingly young boy playing NBA 2K24 on it. ‘Oh my god, he stole his mum’s card, he gifted 2,350,’ Cenat exclaimed when he checked out the YouTube channel himself.

Cenat then added that the kid, or the mum, might have to call the bank to get the money back. Streamers can’t refuse subscriptions, as Twitch explains their policy on it, stating: ‘Gift subscriptions are not refundable except where the purchaser experienced a technical issue with the purchase, the purchase was fraudulently made, or where otherwise required by law.’ Children getting hold of their parents’ credit card and donating to their favourite streamers is a horror tale as old as the donation button.

It’s also not an unlikely outcome, as many of those who watch Twitch streamers are underage.
