The former *NSYNC member was taken into custody following a DWI arrest in Sag Harbor on Long Island, New York, on June 17. The singer was reportedly stopped twice by a police officer that night, and he was warned to stay off the road before he was arrested moments later. The arrest led to countless headlines, as well as memes and jokes taking over social media.



The chairman of the Los Angeles-based firm Reputation Management Consultants Eric Schiffer talked to about the incident, saying that he believes the DWI and the aftermath of it all could have major consequences on the "Mirror" singer's reputation. The expert believes that said the effects of his legal troubles could last at least six months to a year. "It's a bloodbath to Justin's credibility," Eric said.

"It can mean carnage to brand deals and a psychological severing of how brands, or people, how fans, might respect him. Moving forward, especially those who are now moms, or those who understand how irresponsible he was," the expert continued. "He can manage through this with the right resolution in the case and appropriate commentary at the right time to put this into context.

" "But at this point, he hasn’t so it leaves a lot of questions open and it drives a lot of anger for people that see him as a further shameless Hollywood prima donna that is out of touch and can work the justice system." Eric said that he believes fans take issue with celebrities and the wealthy feeling like they are "above the law" and that can "unlock a lot of problems and Justin is counting on that and that frustrates some in America." While the Grammy winner's wife has been seemingly supportive, attending his concerts after the arrest, Eric believes the arrest could cause them stress "that could result in challenges in the relationship.
