In his preseason debut for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Justin Fields had a mostly forgettable night. The former Chicago Bears quarterback, who was traded over the offseason, had some positive moments, completing five of his six passes for 67 yards. He even started the night completing all three of his passes for 37 yards.

But even when his bright moments were marred by a handful of mistakes, as he took two sacks for 15 yards and fumbled three snaps, and that was in limited playing time. arm talent clear as day while still being a crazy slow processor who can't stop taking negative plays Justin Fields has fumbled twice in his first two drives with the #Steelers, coach Mike Tomlin was not happy on the sideline.Awful communication with the line & Fields, he was sacked also on 3rd down. If the first read isn't there for Justin Fields, the #Texans defensive line is getting there quickly.

com/ciHV5mqa7a We are getting the full Justin Fields experience. While it's just the first preseason game for Fields, it's clear there are still plenty of issues to be addressed before he's in a position to lead the Steelers. Luckily for Pittsburgh fans, Fields isn't the only option to be the team's starting quarterback.

The Steelers will more than likely have Russell Wilson be the starter at the beginning of the season, and they'll hope he can continue to be productive as he suits up for a new team. Fields still has plenty of potential but remains far from being a star-caliber quarterback. Last year, Fields had 2,562 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 13 games, also adding 657 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

If he can sort out some of the mistakes that have held him back early in his career, he could be a special player..
