Justin Baldoni is one proud papa. Known for his role on the hit series “ Jane the Virgin ,” Baldoni and his wife, fellow actor Emily Baldoni, are parents to two children under 10, and they both rave about their little ones regularly. From birth announcements to birthdays, the Baldonis never let a kid-related occasion pass without sharing their joy about daughter Maiya and son Maxwell on social media.

Ahead, get to know the actor and his family a bit better before his latest project, the romance drama “ It Ends With Us ,” hits theaters this Friday. Mom and Dad Justin and Emily began dating in 2011, and by spring of 2013, the couple were sharing their engagement news in a video that garnered more than 14 million views on YouTube. That summer, the pair swapped vows in a ceremony held in Corona, California.

The baby announcement In early 2015, the pair had another video go viral on YouTube: a 10-minute-long clip titled “Justin and Emily: The Surprise.” The video, now viewed more than 3 million times, shows how Justin shared their baby news with friends, family and even his “Jane the Virgin” co-stars. The reveal, which includes footage of an ultrasound, was just one small part of the video, though.

Most of the video focuses on how their loved ones reacted to the announcement of their first child. Cue the gasps, headshakes, hugs and so many happy tears. Maiya Grace Baldoni “Saturday, June 27th (2015) at 11:29am our lives changed forever,” Justin wrote in an Instagram birth announcement.

“Born at home, in our bed...

she weighed 7lbs, 15 oz, was 21 inches long of absolute perfection (and a full head of hair). Welcome to the world Maiya Grace Baldoni..

. I know with all my heart that you are going to change it.” He had even more to say about her birth a few days later, with much of his message directed at Emily.

“I may have thought I loved my wife before...

but I’m not exaggerating when I say I absolutely worship her now,” the actor, director and author gushed in his post . “Emily chose to make our little Maiya’s birth a ceremony of love, and all I could do was say thank you, thank you, thank you..

.through tears and tears of gratitude.” Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni Maiya became a big sister shortly after she turned 2.

“HE. IS. HERE! Our little Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni came into this world on Wednesday (October 18, 2017) and showed us that it was possible for our hearts to double in size .

..again,” Justin posted on Instagram to mark the occasion.

“We want to thank everyone for all the love and prayers. We are so grateful. So much more to come.

” Emily looked back on Maxwell’s arrival on his first birthday, celebrating him and who he helped her become. “This very minute. Exactly a year ago.

My Maxwell. My sonshine. My purest joy.

My teacher. My son..

. my SON..

. you’ve made my heart expand to the point where it can caress all the stars and all the planets in one embrace,” she wrote. She added, “I could’ve never been prepared for how motherhood would change me.

I’ve mourned the loss of an identity I felt safe in and in the beginning I tried so hard to go back to my old self only to find that it was like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I’m not that girl anymore. The metamorphosis is too big to ever allow me to retract back to an old self.

” Growing up so fast Of course, children don’t stay little for long. That’s a point Justin pondered when Maxwell turned 4 in 2021. “My baby boy is going to turn four in a few weeks.

😭,” Dad wrote on Instagram . “I know it’s not healthy or productive but I feel like I’m grasping on to what little baby is left in him. He’s so big now.

So sweet and sensitive. So strong and smart. So damn kind.

Where did the time go?” Raising ‘good humans’ In a 2021 interview with The Bump , Justin summed up parenthood by saying, “At the end of the day my goal is to raise good humans.” One of the ways he and Emily try to meet that high bar is by stressing positive messages their children might not get from the outside world. “Every night we say mantras, like ‘I’m brave, I’m strong and powerful,’” Justin shared.

“When it comes to (Maiya), I always lead with the more ‘masculine’ words. ‘I’m a leader, I’m resilient.’ I want her to have these qualities despite the world telling her she shouldn’t.

” He added, “And for my son, I’m focusing on the qualities the world tells him it’s not okay to have: empathy, compassion, sensitivity. So at night, I start with more feminine words for him. ‘I am patient, I’m loving, I’m kind.

’” Most of all, they make sure both children know they’re loved..
