Blake Lively is going hell for leather on florals this week. While on the press tour for her new film, the actor and beauty founder has worn a number of colourful, flower-emblazoned outfits, with manicures to match. The reason? She plays a florist, aptly named Lily Bloom, in the film.
Sticking resolutely to her theme, Lively’s nails have served as a small yet significant detail in her eye-catching wardrobe. Blink and you might just miss them, but Lively has showcased three different floral manicures over the last week – all the work of manicurist Elle Gerstein. If you thought florals were just for spring, well, Lively has other ideas.
There have been garden-inspired, finished with gold leaf; American-style nails with delicate watercolour floral tips; and vibrant, textured florals that mimicked the embroidery on Lively’s Oscar de la Renta dress. All celebrated the beauty of flowers, and made for great inspiration for the rest of us. Blooming brilliant.
