Summary Air China dominates Beijing-US routes with flights to JFK, LAX, and SFO. Hainan Airlines serves Boston and Seattle from Beijing with fewer flights. United Airlines is the only US carrier flying to Beijing from San Francisco with the busiest route.

All things considered, there are surprisingly few direct links between the Chinese capital of Beijing and the United States. Even more surprising is that only one US airline offers flights to Beijing. For the month of August, only three airlines are scheduled to operate six routes connecting Beijing to the US.

All of these flights depart from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). The flight connections between the United States and China haven't recovered since the pandemic . According to data from Cirium , an aviation analytics company, these are the airlines linking Beijing to the US with direct flights.

Air China Air China provides three or half of the links between Beijing and the US - to New York's JFK, California's Los Angeles, and San Francisco airports. Of these routes, the busiest is to LAX, with Air China having 27 flights over the month and 9,774 seats. The second busiest scheduled route is between Beijing and JKF (the busiest and most connected airport in the US for international travel).

Air China is scheduled to operate 22 flights in August, offering 8,030 seats. The scheduled flight time is 15 hours and 25 minutes (making it an ultra-long-haul route) with a Boeing 747. The third route to San Francisco has 9 monthly flights and only 2,799 seats.

The scheduled flight time is 12 hours and 20 minutes and is served with a Boeing 777. Air China is the flag carrier of the People's Republic of China (aka China) and is based in Shunyi in Beijing. It is not to be confused with China Airlines, the state-owned flag carrier of the Republic of China (aka Taiwan).

The opening of Daxing Airport represented a once-in-a-century opportunity for the already saturated slot resources at Beijing airports. Hainan Airlines Hainan Airlines is the other Chinese airline offering flights from Beijing to the United States. The Hainan-based airline boasts the fourth-largest airline fleet in China and operates flights to Boston and Seattle.

The busier of these two routes is to Boston's Logan International Airport, with 13 flights in August offering 3,523 seats. Hainan Airlines operates flights to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport with a capacity of 2,586 seats—the fewest of the six Beijing-US routes. United Airlines The only US-based airline offering services to Beijing is United Airlines , which operates Beijing-bound flights from San Francisco.

Although United may only offer only one flight to Beijing, it is also the busiest of the six routes, with 31 flights in August. These flights are to carry 10,850 seats. The United flight has a scheduled flight time of 12 hours and 5 minutes, departing at 15:25 in Beijing and arriving at 14:30 in San Francisco the next day.

The route is served by a Boeing 777..
