There was plenty of chatter regarding a Karl-Anthony Towns trade this offseason . It didn’t seem likely to happen at the late stage that it did . The Minnesota Timberwolves decided they needed to handle their luxury tax situation , and that brought both Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to Chris Finch’s roster .
Chemistry probably was the number one concern when bringing in a pair of new rotation players at such a late stage. DiVincenzo was the shooter that Minnesota needed though , and Randle has acclimated quickly. There’s a future with the Timberwolves for the big man as well.

Karl-Anthony Towns was the first overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves and spent the first nine years of his career with the organization. He wasn’t always the fan favorite, but he was certainly a pillar of consistency. Julius Randle would love to embody that role, and KSTP’s Darren “Doogie” Wolfson suggested their is a path to make that a reality.
