Birth: February 28, 1994 Death: August 7, 2024 of LowellLowellJoyce ‘Joycie’ Beryl Hulme, 80, of Lowell, MA died early Tuesday, August 7, 2024 with her loving daughters by her side, after suffering from dementia at D’Youville Senior Care/Memory Care in Lowell.Born in Lawrence, MA, on February 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert H. Hulme and Harriet B.

(Boardman) Hulme.She attended Lawrence High School where she was a member of the Italian and biology clubs. She graduated with the class of 1961 and went on to earn a license from Fazio Beauty Institute.



In 1963 she married her high school sweetheart and started a family. She was employed in early childhood education for many years. Later in her life, Joyce earned an associate’s degree from Castle Jr.

College in Windham, NH.Joyce was at peace in nature, and found comfort from the warmth of the sun on her face, the sound of the raindrops and the wind, and the beauty of a snow storm. She was appreciative of even the simplest things.

She ‘got a kick’ out of the squirrels frolicking under the oak trees, watching the ducks and geese by the Merrimack River, and the seagulls at the beach. She loved all animals and looked forward to visits from her grand-dog Blitzer and Oliver the therapy dog. Fieldtrips with Kim to the local wildlife rescue also highlighted her days.

She enjoyed crocheting, ice skating and watching the Red Sox but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by her daughters Robin Riendeau of Bowdoinham, ME, and Kim Cook (fiancee Scott Buonopane) of Groton, MA, her brother Gilbert (Marlene) Hulme of Windham, NH and her sister in-law Patricia Hulme of Atkinson, NH, two grandchildren: Louis (Nicole) Quintal of Andover, MA and Miranda (Ian) Dunnett of Scarborough, ME, four great-grandchildren; Callie and Thea Quintal, Juniper and Max Dunnett, nieces; Trish Hulme and Danielle King, and nephew John Hulme.She was the sister of the late Carole Ann Dwyer and Kenneth Hulme.

Joyce will be remembered by her friends and family for her kindness to others and cheerful demeanor.There will be visiting hours from 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, August 18th, and a funeral service at 10:00 am on Monday, August 19th, both taking place at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA.
