ELYSBURG — Joy Through the Grove is back for 2024 with even more Christmas light experiences at Knoebels Amusement Resort. The drive-thru light display in the Elysburg parks boasts two miles of winding paths, 500 illuminated pieces, several custom Knoebels-themed displays and countless twinkling lights. The nightly event, which launched in 2020, starts at 5:30 p.
m. Friday and goes until Dec. 31, excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
“We have the same beauty and magic as always,” co-project lead Lauren Muscato, a fourth-generation Knoebel family member, said. “We like that families can come together and enjoy the experience. It’s fun for everyone from kids to grandparents.
It’s an attraction everyone can enjoy together.” The journey begins near the Impulse roller coaster, through the Boulevard and into the campground area. “We have expanded the displays on the Boulevard,” Muscato said.
“The flower beds have new displays. We’ve incorporated the Flyers this year. We’ve reinvested in the cabin displays.
There’s a brand new light tunnel on the bridge.” The bridge over where Mugser Run and Roaring Creek meet will be encased in a light tunnel featuring Kozmo, Dexter and Piper blowing bubbles. Project co-lead Jon Slodysko, the rides operations manager, said guests can expect new additions to the patriotic, underwater and winter scenes.
“People love it every year,” Slodysko said. “There’s always something new and exciting at Knoebels. Joy Throu.
