Lucy Beaumont, self-described as a "small, feral woman", has charmed many with her sharp northern wit and fearless comedic style. The Hull-born star spent years entertaining audiences alongside her ex-partner Jon Richardson in the popular Dave series Meet the Richardsons, which she also co-wrote, and presenting 'Jon and Lucy's Odd Couples' on Channel 4. However, Lucy has now said goodbye to her long-term comedy partnership both on and off stage.
With new projects including a podcast with a former Taskmaster contestant and her own stand-up tour 'Lucy Beaumont Live', the comedian is forging ahead. Having recently celebrated her 41st birthday, OK! asked if life feels any different for her now. She responded simply: "I don't feel any different really.
Just a bit angrier and not willing to take any s**t from anyone." Although Lucy isn't exactly a newcomer, her fame has soared in the 12 years since her BBC New Comedy Award win. However, it was her role in the Bafta-nominated Meet the Richardsons that significantly boosted her profile.
Despite her small screen success, it's clear that her true love is stand-up comedy. "Live shows are unbeatable, there's nothing like it because it's so immediate. And each show is totally different.
You can sort of get the same reaction because they're well bedded-in shows, but each audience has a different personality it's mad, and really fascinating. You can say something off hand and it can be the best gag of the show you just don't get that with T.
