Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui has joined forces with Bar Trigona for an exclusive event at the poolside CoCoRum. Bar Trigona, ranked #36 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list and recognized by the World’s 50 Best Bars Academy, is renowned for its dedication to sustainability.

It has been named Malaysia’s Best Bar for four consecutive years and received the esteemed Ketel One Sustainable Award. “On August 16 and 17, 2024, guests can enjoy Bar Trigona’s innovative and eco-friendly cocktails in a stunning ocean view and tropical setting,” shares Jasjit Assi, the Resort’s General Manager. Crafting Cocktails with a Conscience: A Fusion of Sustainable Spirits The coming together of Bar Trigona Head Bartender Rohan Matmary and CoCoRum’s Bar Manager Thom Geerts presents a spirited experience as both mixologists are committed advocates of sustainability.



Traversing through four key experiences – Safe Haven, Jewel of the Tropics, Island Rituals, and The Vault – CoCoRum’s playful approach to the beverage experience blends seamlessly into Bar Trigona’s philosophy. “What makes a cocktail great, technically speaking, is a precise balance of ingredients and flavours,” believes Rohan, adding that every exceptional cocktail also needs a compelling story. “Not to forget, a passionate bartender,” he smiles.

As part of the event, a Private Masterclass at The Vault will offer guests an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the realm of sustainable mixology. Scheduled for August 16 and 17, 2024, these sessions are designed for small groups of 3-4 guests, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience. Each masterclass will run from 4:00 to 4:45 pm and from 5:15 to 6:00 pm, priced at THB 2,200++ per person.

Participants will explore the art of creating cocktails that captivate the senses and narrate a meaningful story through the use of locally sourced, responsibly utilized ingredients. This masterclass offers a unique opportunity to engage with top mixologists renowned for their innovative techniques and commitment to sustainability. Guests will gain a profound understanding of cocktail crafting, coupled with insightful sustainable practices that extend beyond the bar.

This exceptional experience embodies the pinnacle of luxury and innovation, crafted specifically for cocktail enthusiasts and aspiring mixologists looking to elevate their craft in a luxurious setting. Infusing Tropical Elegance: Signature Cocktails with Island Flair During this special event, Rohan will present a selection of his signature creations from both the day and night menus. Complementing the serene day-time paradise, highlights from the menu include Blue Pea T&T (Blue Pea tequila, tonic water), and a flavourful Sakura Spritzer with gin and sakura vanilla syrup to liven up the mood.

For those who would like the earthy flavours, the vetiver, pandan, gin and fig tea in Petrichor hit the spot. “Try the Airmail,” suggests Rohan, “We bring to you our signature trigona honey in this mix including calamansi juice, prosecco and dark rum.” An Enchanted Evening of Exotic Flavours and Spirited Tales The nighttime experience is a compelling story in itself, with mezcals (Parakeet featuring salted cucumber cordial) and rums taking centre stage.

The Canchanchara with white rum, lime juice and trigona honey brings a zesty vibe, while the rose apple and torch ginger rum with strawberry cordial adds just the right amount of zing to the evening’s proceedings. With a focus on flavours, Rohan brings his expertise to the Durian Colada – a unique combination of white rum, acid adjusted pineapple juice, coconut cream and the quintessential durian paste. “Take a sip and settle down for the story, ” grins this maverick bartender.
