Johnny Sexton has shared a rare photo with his family as they enjoy a much-needed breakaway. The retired rugby pro soaked up a glorious sunset on the beach alongside his wife and children. Johnny and his wife Laura share three children together; Luca, Amy and Sophie.
The sweet snap was taken during the family’s recent trip to Portugal alongside Wendy Lowry and her daughters Ivy and Iris. Sadly, Wendy’s time in the sun was short-lived as she and the girls jetted off to Paris to cheer Shane on as he acted as flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Also spotted on the fun filled trip was current Ireland rugby captain Peter O’Mahony along with his wife Jessica and their brood.
Jessica and her kids, Indie, Theo, and Ralph had been in Portugal for some time, with Peter having joined them after finishing up the Irish rugby team’s rugby tour of South Africa. Sharing the sweet snap on his Instagram feed, Johnny was inundated with comments from his adoring followers. ‘Aw cuteness and all kiddos looking at the camera, a win!!!,’ one user wrote.
‘Beautiful photo of a beautiful wee family, your wee son is your button!!’ a second added. ‘Life doesn’t get much better than this..

Revealing he had to keep a very tight lid on his flag-bearer news, the golfer admits he kept the secret from one very important person in particular. ‘I didn’t tell my mum,’ he laughed. ‘It would have been in the Tullamore Tribune a couple of weeks ago if I did! I told a couple of people.
Neil Manchip, our [golf] team manager here, he obviously knew. Some of my team knew.’ ‘I kept it as quiet as I could.
