Macomb County restaurateur Joe Vicari next month will open the doors of his newest eatery titled Andiamo Pasta & Chops on the grounds of the Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, officials said Thursday. The 7,670-square-foot restaurant takes the place of the former Brio Italian Grille space at the front of the mall on Hall Road east of Garfield Road. Michigan-based Joe Vicari Restaurant Group will host a sneak peek for invited dignitaries and media on Tuesday, Sept.

10, followed by a grand opening on Friday, Sept. 13, according to an invitation. Officials said the new restaurant “boasts a sleek and modern design.

“Andiamo Pasta & Chops is mirrored off Joe Vicari’s Andiamo Italian Steakhouse in Las Vegas, which offers Andiamo favorites alongside the finest meats from the nation’s top butchers in a beautiful, casual setting.’ The restaurant “promises to appeal to a wide range of Metro Detroiters looking for handcrafted pastas, fine Italian food, prime steak, and an award-winning wine list,” the invitation read. An earlier press release state the facility will be reconfigured around a central bar that will become the centerpiece of the new restaurant.

It will be surrounded by a lounge area and two new dining rooms. Indoor and outdoor dining options will be available, along with a separate banquet area with seating for up to 80 people for private dining and events. According to the release, Andiamo Pasta & Chops will feature a menu of Italian favorites combined with American steaks, free-range chicken, a selection of fresh, sustainable seafood and a selection of premium steakhouse accompaniments.

The grand opening comes three years after Vicari’s last venture left bustling Hall Road (M-59). He closed the former Andiamo Italian Bistro on Hall Road in front of Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights in 2019 after a 16-year run. That venue was demolished in 2020 to make way for a Portillo’s hot dog joint.

But Vicari — head of the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group made up of Andiamo, Joe Muer Seafood and others — discovered much of his customer base wanted him to locate somewhere else on Hall Road. And he felt the central Macomb County area needed a new, quality steak house. “So many of our customers said to us ‘where are we going to go now,’ because he had done so well there for many years,” Vicari told The Macomb Daily earlier this summer.

“We began looking in that area for somewhere in the area because we needed to have a presence on Hall Road.” The opening comes as the group overseeing his collection of restaurants celebrates its 35th anniversary. It the 22nd largest restaurant group in the United States.

The group is made up of 25 restaurants including Andiamo, Andiamo Bistro, Joe Muer Seafood, The Statler Bistro, The Bronze Door, Birmingham Pub, Vito’s Italian Bakery, 29/41 Mediterranean Street Food, The Country Inn, and Joe Vicari’s Andiamo Italian Steakhouse in Las Vegas..
