Jone Jonas made his Latin Grammy on-stage debut in Miami on Thursday night alongside best new artist nominee Ela Taubert. The pair debuted an unreleased bilingual collaboration, a remix of Taubert’s “¿Cómo Pasó?” Jonas supported Taubert by playing the guitar and singing his verses in English, while the 23 year-old belted her lyrics in Spanish. Taubert, a Colombian singer-songwriter, has been on the rise with Latin folk and pop-rock songs such as “¿Para Qué?,” “¿Y Si Eras Tú?” and “¿Por Qué Soy Así?” Taubert also opened for Karol G’s massive stadium trek, “Mañana Sera Bonito Tour.
” Jonas previously worked with a Latin artist in 2019 when the Grammy nominee and his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas joined Sebastián Yatra, Daddy Yankee and Natti Natasha in the studio to collaborate on their single “Runaway.” The “Runaway” music video featured all six artists. Jonas and Taubert’s duet took place following the presentation of the best contemporary música mexican a album to Carin León for “Boca Chueca, Vol.
1.” Taubert is nominated in the best new artist category this year alongside Agris, Kevin Aguilar, Darumas, Nicolle Horbath, Latin Mafia, Cacá Magalhães, Os Garotin, Iñigo Quintero and Sofi Saar. The nominations list for the 25th annual Latin Grammys are led by songwriter-producer Edgar Barrera, who is up for nine awards, followed by Bad Bunny and Karol G with eight each.
