Yet she revealed that becoming every man's fantasy had its dark side, as she reflected on her tumultous dating history and targeting a string of 'weirdos'. During an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the 45-year-old animal activist explained that she now has 'no time to date' as she's busy running Fripps Farm , yet has no issues taking a man break after a string of bad experiences. Reflecting on her murky dating history, she admitted: 'I think I'm the most unlucky person in love In the whole world.
I have encountered narcissists, gaslighters, woman beaters, sex abusers, child sex abusers. You name it, I've had it.' 'He'd read every single interview I'd ever done, watched every single YouTube clip, everything. 'So he knew every single thing to say to me to get me to fall for him. He knew every single part of my life, and he used it in a way that was so clever.
'For example, he knew that years ago me and my friends would bet tattoos instead of money. I f you lost a bet, you had to get a tattoo of the other person's choice. 'Well, the guy had researched me so much - and this wasn't an easy piece of information to find - so when we were in our early dating stage he told me to ignore a tattoo of his because he "got it in a bet.
" 'And I was like, "oh my god, oh my god , I've never met anyone that does that. T his is my soul mate. He's like the male version of me.
'I was thinking he was amazing but no, he had just done his research. Even my mum and dad were fooled. 'And then the cracks started to show and the mask slipped.
He started becoming violent and controlling. 'I found out he was a criminal and had been convicted of multiple crimes and in and out of jail.' Jodie revealed she wished she had used Clare's Law, a scheme set up to let people find out from police if their partner had a history of domestic violence , to learn about his past.
She explained: 'Clare's Law is the most amazing thing. Now I won't date anyone unless I've used Clare's Law to check them before. 'Every time I end a relationship, it gets harder to trust the next one.
They sort of chip away at your trust each time and it gets harder and harder to trust in future.' She explained: 'I am done with men.
I haven't got time for a relationship anyway, but I have had a really rough time with men. 'Weirdos are attracted to me but they'll pretend they're normal. They're so desperate to be with me that they'll do anything, they'll put on this big act.
'And then just when you think, "oh, he's amazing, he's so nice", you find out he's a gaslighting nasty psychopath .' Jodie was got engaged to DJ David Doyle in 2006 after just 11 days of dating but the couple called it quits just weeks later. 'I barely have time to eat some crisps or shove an oven pizza in let alone shower and put on makeup!' Jodie's energy levels are certainly to be marvelled at when she explains her daily routine at Fripps Farm. The animals - of which there are hundreds when you factor in the birds and reptiles she cares for - require round the clock care. Many of whom - Jodie estimates 80 percent of which - would have been put to sleep if it weren't for Fripps taking them in.
It's a a mammoth task for Jodie and her small group of volunteers, so why doesn't she take on more volunteers? 'You can't just trust any random person,' Jodie explained. 'The only people we accept are people that we know, friends of friends. 'I don't want random people walking into my home and being here all day.
They could be trolls pretending they want to come and volunteer because they just want to get some gossip or they could be fans. 'I've had so many weirdos in my life, including ex-boyfriends that turned out to be utter weirdos or narcissists or psychos or whatever, and so I'm just really, really wary of people.' For now, Jodie is taking time out of dating and is dedicating her time to running her animal sanctuary.
She explained: 'I am done with men. It was during Covid so me and my dad had to care for her at home because the hospitals had kicked all the cancer patients out. 'It was just horrific. I gave up work and gave up everything to care for my mum.
And that was what made me realise that life's too short, watching my mum die in front of me. 'Why would I go and do another TV show or another photoshoot or whatever it is when that's not what I want to be doing in life? That's not what's gonna make me happy. 'What's gonna make me happy is having an animal sanctuary, because it's the only thing I've ever truly wanted.
