Joan M. Dickinson, 93, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born February 22, 1931, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Josephine (Dever) Sweeney.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy class of 1950. On July 22, 1952, Joan married the love of her life, Richard E Dickinson, at St.
Mary’s Church in Glens Falls. They were together 52 years before his passing in November of 2004. Joan was a communicant of St.
Michaels the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls. She enjoyed family, friends, traveling in her motorhome, fashion, and shopping. Joan had a sassy quick wit and loved to laugh.
Joan was a member of Rosary Alter Society, Bereavement Committee, Meals on Wheels for 17 years with her best friend Anna Clear. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was predeceased by her son, Peter Dickinson; sisters, Barbara Swan (Hubert) and Peggy Breen; best friend, Anna Clear. Left to cherish her memory include her sons, Terry Dickinson (Sandi) of Fletcher N.
C., Jay Dickinson (Cindi) of Lake Luzerne, Matthew Dickinson (Evelyn) of Corinth, Michael Dickinson (Wanda) of Glens Falls, Paul Dickinson (Mary) of Gansevoort; daughter, Amy Polmanteer (Bryan) of Corinth; grandchildren, Brook Dickinson (Jen), Danielle McInerney, Robert Dickinson (Sydney), Kaley Dickinson (Nick), David Dickinson (Laurie), Jennifer Dickinson (Adrian), Jason Miller (Carol), Tanya Dickinson, Leah Dickinson (Nick), Christine Linendoll (Gerry), and Richard Dickinson.
