Sachin Verma , currently seen as Shubhankar Bose in Jhanak , has bagged a pivotal role in the same production house’s upcoming show, Durga . The daily soap will feature Pranali Rathod of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame, and Aashay Mishra as the lead couple. Sachin will play the father of the male lead and will be seen opposite Parineeta Borthakur.
The cast is currently in Jodhpur, shooting the initial episodes of the show. The actor says both of his characters play pivotal roles in their respective storylines (Jhanak and Durga). He shares, “The beauty of Leena ji’s (writer and producer Leena Gangopadhyay) writing is that all the characters in her stories are beautifully etched out and important.
If you watch an episode of Jhanak, you will notice that no actor is just standing in a scene without purpose or looking out of place. No one will feel underutilised. Even if you shoot for fewer days, when you are in a scene, you are never just in the background.
Every character contributes meaningfully to the storyline, which is often not the case in TV shows. Also, her characters are very real and never loud.” Discussing the challenge of balancing two shows, Sachin tells us, “I am relying on the production house to manage my schedule.
Fortunately, the sets for both shows are adjacent to each other, so I won’t need to travel between different locations. The two teams will coordinate to arrange my shooting days as needed. This setup makes working on two shows simultaneously manageable.
” Sachin has been part of several TV shows such as Reth, CID, Kumkum: Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek - Arjun, Savdhaan India: Crime Alert, Mahabharat, Suryaputra Karn, and Dharm Yoddha Garud. His current show, Jhanak, features Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja as the lead couple, alongside Chandni Sharma, Shilpa Tulaskar, and Kajal Pisal among other cast members..
