Today is a momentous day for Australia's leading low-cost carrier and member of the Qantas Group, Jetstar. The airline has announced the arrival of its first Airbus A320neo, and for the first time in its 20-year history, cabin crews, pilots, and airport staff are stepping out in new uniforms. A day of firsts for the Jetstar team This week, Jetstar's first Airbus A320neo (pictured) landed in Melbourne after a ferry flight from France to Australia via Oman and Malaysia.
This is the first of Jetstar's A320neos , which mirror its A321LRs and include 188 modern, ergonomic seats, extra-large overhead bins, in-seat USB power outlets and seat-back device holders. The new-generation aircraft, registration VH-A5A and MSN 12328, departed Toulouse Blagnac Airport (TLS) on November 22 at 09:27 and, after a 6:55-hour flight, landed in Oman at Muscat International Airport (MCT) at 19:23. The next day it left Oman at 10:47 and arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 21:33, before the final 7:42-hour leg on November 23 from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne Airport (MEL) arriving at 23:41.
This is the first Airbus A320neo to be registered in Australia, and it will enter service on the Jetstar network in December. With the same layout and higher level of passenger amenities as the A321LR , it will be a welcome change from Jetstar's A320-200s, which have served the airline so well over past years.
