Earlier today, Gucci’s spring 2025 presentation during Milan Fashion Week brought out a star-studded crowd, including celebrities such as Dakota Johnson, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Julia Garner, and Kirsten Dunst. Actor Jessica Chastain was also seated front row. “I love to be in Italy, especially with Gucci,” Chastain tells Vogue post-show.

“The house has such strong Italian heritage, and it always feels like a beautiful celebration, celebrating fashion in this country.” Of course, Chastain loves coming to Milan for the sightseeing just as much as the catwalk. “My favorite part about being in Milan is the Duomo; It’s one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the world, and I always try to have a quick walk by there whenever I come to Milan,” she says.

Watching Sabato De Sarno’s new collection of refined knits, coats, and dresses come down the runway, the longtime Gucci fan and was client busy making a mental wishlist. “I loved look 3 in the show, the black dress. I also loved the tailoring of the coats with the beautiful trains,” Chastain says.

“The black one I want to wear on the red carpet—it’s exquisite.” The star has worn many Gucci creations on the step and repeat over the years, including a lime green gown at the Emmys last year. “I love the lime green he uses in his collections,” says Chastain.

“I remember from a year ago, in his very first collection for Gucci, it was a jacket with fringe. Gucci made me an Emmy dress based on the jacket, I Ioved it so much.” Given she had a VIP seat to take in the new assortment, Chastain was sure to bring a stellar front-row look to Milan today.

She and stylist Elizabeth Stewart landed on a sweet retro dress that hung off the shoulder, featuring a whimsical daisy print. “What I loved so much about the dress that I wore to the show was that it was such a reminder of Italian glamour,” says Chastain. “I felt like I was walking back in time but at the same time, it felt modern.

” She was especially enamored by the summery print. “The pattern of the dress was beautiful because, while it was flowers, it didn’t feel overly romantic; the cut of the dress was quite sexy,” she says. It was yet another fashion win for Chastain (whose perfectly-tousled hair was also striking).

Now that the fashion fun is over, Chastain will be departing Milan and heading back to set. “My production company, Freckle Films, is currently producing a television show for Netflix called His and Hers with Tessa Thompson, Pablo Schreiber and Jon Bernthal,” says Chastain. “Also, I produced and starred in a series called The Savant for Apple TV+ and that will be releasing in 2025.

” Once the red carpet premiere comes around, our bet is on another Gucci moment. Below, see how Chastain got ready for the spring 2025 Gucci show..
