So where can you find a coupon? "Better ask Beyond Basic," Burford joked, hoping to nudge people to reach out to the nonprofit, which supports adults with intellectual disabilities. Beyond Basic, founded in 2019 by Molly Smith and Ashton Johnson, teaches life skills and independence for adults age 18 and older. The organization recently opened its own store at 410 North Gum St.
to help further fund its programming, an ideal spot to grab a coupon, Burford noted. Leading up to the Jersey Mike's opening, Burford also has handed out hundreds of coupons to nearby businesses — mostly within a mile of the Trolley Road restaurant. He recommended sandwich lovers seek them out as well.
