Actor snagged another for his role as the high-strung Chef Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in The Bear at the 76th Emmys on Sunday night. This is the second time in a row that the star has won the category. Although he won one of the night's biggest honors, Jeremy remained very humble about his victory.

During his appearance in a press interview following his recent win, he admitted that he didn't assume he would walk away with an Emmy for Best Actor. Despite there being some speculation that he would given how powerful his performance in The Bear was for season three. revealed during the press interview that he "didn’t know" that he was going to win.

"These days are strange you don't have time to do anything feels like a lot of waiting around it was a regular day until I got here," the Shameless alum said. Though Jeremy’s win is well-deserved, along with other wins that The Bear scored tonight, many aren’t happy with how many wins the show got Sunday night. Fans didn’t agree with The Academy putting the show in the comedy category when it came to the awards ceremony.

When the Emmys began awarding nominees at the awards show, causing The Bear to take center stage, fans' rage immediately came out. One fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, argued: "The Bear is not a comedy show idk why they keep getting away with category fraud every year." Even though The Bear did very well at the Emmys, Ayo Edebiri did not secure a win, despite her nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Sydney Adamu.

"How are you going to rob Ayo Edebiri from her Emmy on Independence Day like," one fan posted. Meanwhile, another added: "I was so sure Ayo Edebiri would go home with her second Emmy Award I feel very humbled." Some viewed Ayo’s loss as being inconsistent with the Emmy love that the rest of the cast was receiving.

One said: "How did every single cast member from The Bear (that was nominated) EXCEPT Ayo win...

that’s crazy." Even Emmy co-host Eugene Levy, who opened the show with a monologue, made light of the controversial situation when it comes how The Bear is categorized. He said: "I know some of you might be expecting us to make a joke about whether The Bear is really a comedy.

..but in the true spirit of The Bear we will not be making any jokes.
