Jeopardy! has suffered a major ratings drop, leaving it tied with another popular show and disappointing viewers. Season 40 of the popular game show underwhelmed many fans, but most still believe it deserves better. Nielsen released its streaming numbers from July 1 to July 21, revealing that Jeopardy ! landed virtually neck-in-neck with Family Feud in the syndicated ratings standings.

Jeopardy! took the top spot with a 4.2 overall rating, down from 5.3 a little over one year ago.

Family Feud received the same rating from Nielsen, though it landed in the No. 2 spot in the rankings. The Ken Jennings -hosted game show saw a 20 percent drop in viewership from 2023 to 2024.

More Jeopardy! News On a Reddit thread dedicated to Jeopardy, fans of the popular trivia game show discussed the news. "Jeopardy! did a 4.2 rating for the period of July 1-21 finishing in a virtual tie with Family Feud for the top spot in the syndicated ratings," one fan wrote in a thread.

"For comparison, a little over a year ago Jeopardy! did a 5.3, so is down around 20% from that point. In the same period, Feud did 4.

6, so Feud has declined far less to draw even with Jeopardy!" Nielsen numbers from April showed Jeopardy! up 2 percent in the ratings, leading all syndicated game shows with a 5.3 score. Most read in Game shows A fan in the comments replied, "WTH? Family Feud is the crassest show ever.

I thought it had an audience of like 12 people." "Yeah it's disheartening..

.Jeopardy is so high-class for so long, and it's neck and neck with the show where every category is a d**k joke or a chance to flatter Steve Harvey (survey says he's the sexiest game show host again!)," a second person posted. A third Reddit user pointed out, "One thing to consider is that Feud can air up to I believe six or seven different times per day in a market and I'm pretty sure the ratings is an average of each broadcast, whereas Jeopardy only airs once per day.

" "I wonder how much tournament fatigue is a factor?" questioned a fourth fan of the game show. Someone responded, "Probably the biggest factor. Some viewers likely gave up waiting for regular games to return and never came back.

Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would "no longer" host Jeopardy! after a lengthy hiatus, having stood with the writer's strike, and Ken was named sole host. Ken now helms all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the nightly show, and other primetime specials like Masters. Fans pleaded with production to keep the long-running game show on airwaves.

The buzz began after a post on Jeopardy!'s Instagram page suggested it was heading to streaming only. A video was posted on a social media account belonging to the show, featuring a collage of headlines reporting that Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune had been removed from TV services and streaming platforms. "Hang in there, baby.

#Jeopardy!" the caption read. One headline in the post read, "Jeopardy! fans distraught as show's only streaming platform ends its service 'without warning.'" "Both Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune channels are down," another stated.

"Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune fans fume amid sudden removal from only streaming home," revealed a third. Viewer questions from the comments section of their social media platforms also appeared on screen. "Where can I stream Jeopardy???" one wondered.

"Is any of this available anywhere to stream?" inquired another. "Where can you watch Jeopardy! these days?" a third questioned. The inquiries faded away, revealing Jeopardy!'s classic blue screen.

A message appeared that read, "We hear you." "Stay tuned for the latest Jeopardy! streaming news," the post concluded. Fans in the comments on the post weren't thrilled.

"Please don't make me pay for a new streaming service," worried one viewer. "Miss the days you could watch jeopardy on Netflix," complained a second. "You mean I wont have to watch bootlegs on youtube anymore," quipped a third.

Yet a fourth commented, "The only reason I watch Pluto TV was for JEOPARDY and I was heartbroken when I opened the app and it was gone! My 2 year old knew Pluto TV as 'Jeepody.'" "Please tell us it's going to be on a common streaming platform!!" begged another. A sixth fan wondered, "Wait, it's still on cable though right?" "Yes still on cable mon-fri - unless there's a football or baseball game on," replied another.

SUDDEN GOODBYE Last month, Jeopardy! fans were shocked to learn the game show unexpectedly ended its service on Pluto TV. The platform was the only was for fans to watch old episodes of the show, which is notoriously only available on cable.
