It was "ladies night" on Jeopardy! tonight with . On Friday's episode of , returning one-day champion Maddie Carwile, a healthcare program coordinator from New York City competed against Kate Roesch, a data visualization developer from Indianapolis, Indiana and Marianne McGowan, a writing professor from Framingham, Massachusetts. The NYC healthcare program coordinator started off strong, getting the first few questions right.

Then Kate swooped in and got and kept her streak going until Maddie snatched it back before the first commercial break. Marianna also answered a question as well. Maddie and Kate had a tie of $2,800 and Marianna had $1,000 ahead of the commercial break and .



Fans took to social media to share their excitement over one aspect all of the contestants had in common. Some fans noticed that all the contestants competing were women which was something they were happy to see and realized they hadn't seen that in a while on Jeopardy!. On X formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: "It’s ladies night on today’s game.

been a while since we had [three woman symbol emojis]." On a Jeopardy subreddit for Friday's episode on September 27, one fan wrote: "Congratulations to Kate, Maddie, and Marianne!" Another fan complimented the contestants on their gameplay: "Always love it when my home state gets a win on Jeopardy! Awesome game all around, too. 3 really good players.

" As the three "really good players" continued, Maddie and Katie.
