JENNIFER Lopez and Ben Affleck have called it quits after less than two years of marriage. The A-listers tied the knot in a July 2022 Las Vegas ceremony and had a more extravagant celebration the following month in Georgia. Jennifer, 55, filed for divorce from Ben, 51, after months of split speculation, TMZ reported on Tuesday.

J.Lo filed legal documents Tuesday in L.A.

County Superior Court pro per - meaning without an attorney. The Atlas actress listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024. Ironically, the date of the filing, August 20, is on the 2nd anniversary of the ex-couple's traditional wedding ceremony they held in Georgia.

In the docs, Jennifer did not mention whether or not the pair had a prenup but sources with knowledge told TMZ the pair didn't have a prenuptial agreement in place. That means whatever earnings or profit Jen and Ben made during their nearly 2-year marriage is community property. In 2020, Forbes listed Jennifer's net worth as $150million.

As of August 1, Celebrity Net Worth has Ben's net worth equaling Jennifer's at approximately $150millon. According to the legal docs, Jennifer waived spousal support and has requested the judge to deny Ben such support as well. They have barely been seen together in public, one of their last outings being in June 2024 - Ben also moved out of their home.

The couple initially struck up a romance in the early 2000s when the nickname "Bennifer" became popular. They began dating again in 2021 in a whirlwind second-take romance. In late May, the Good Will Hunting star was pictured looking downtrodden while inhaling a cigarette outside his kid's school.

Ben seemed overwhelmed as he slouched down in his vehicle, leaning against the headrest. At the time, the Oscar-winning director was wearing his wedding ring, though he has ditched it on multiple other occasions. The Gone Girl star looked solemn while enjoying dinner alone in Santa Monica just days before.

Ben was spotted walking into the luxury restaurant Giorgio Baldi wearing a navy button-down shirt, khaki pants, a gray blazer, and black leather boots. The actor did not crack a smile during his stroll, maintaining a serious expression as he entered the California hot spot. Meanwhile, Jennifer hit the red carpet in full glam alone during her husband's brooding outings.

The movie star attended back-to-back events to promote her new film, Atlas in May. The mother of two stunned at a press event in Hollywood, wearing a white silk crop top and black mermaid skirt. Jennifer smiled brightly on the carpet - though her spouse was nowhere to be found.

Hours later, the songwriter landed in Mexico for another red carpet appearance. The Hustlers star showed off her flawless figure in a plunging white-ruffled gown. Again, Jennifer faced the public without her husband by her side.

The Maid in Manhattan star also chose to arrive at the 2024 Met Gala without her spouse. The couple spent their second wedding anniversary on July 16 apart. Ben did not attend Jennifer's Bridgerton-themed 55th birthday party in July.

At the end of July, the exes listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million. Days later, Ben purchased a $20.5 million home in the Pacific Palisades.

Daily Mail reported the couple's divorce has been finalized for weeks. "They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them," a source told the outlet. "At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn't.

"Honestly, in the end they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it" A source claimed to InTouch that Jen and Ben were dealing with major marital struggles and would go weeks without spending time together. JLo and Ben were first linked together in 2002 and became engaged later that year.

However, they called off the wedding just two years later. They rekindled their romance in 2021 and finally got hitched in 2022. Here is a timeline of their love story: "It's over; they're headed for a divorce, and for once [Ben's] not to blame.

He's focusing on his work and kids now," the source claimed. "They'll never stop loving each other, but she can't control him, and he can't change her. There's no way it could have lasted.

" A source exclusively spoke to The U.S. Sun about their dynamic as a couple before the split.

"The ground rules are, Jennifer and Ben are allowed to go off and do projects, appearances and work that completely don't involve each other and definitely involve spending weeks at a time apart. "The fundamental difference between them is that Jennifer has an incredible golden optimism about every situation, and Ben sees everything - and I mean everything - in his life as a problem that only he can solve." "She's good at ignoring little, insignificant stuff and focusing on the big picture and he isn't," the informant shared.

Jen and Ben first publicly announced their romance in 2002 after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli. He proposed in November 2002 with an iconic pink-diamond engagement ring. They postponed their wedding in September 2003, blaming media attention, but eventually called it off in January 2004.

They rekindled their romance in the spring of 2021 and went public with the relationship in June of that same year. Ben popped the question for a second time with a stunning green engagement ring in April 2022. Ben was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018 and share three children together.

Jennifer shares twins with her ex-husband Mark Anthony, whom she married from 2004 to 2014. More to follow..
